World Book Week
Aliens Come to Gibside ! We had lots of exciting events going on during the week as we celebrated World Book Day. We have been reading 'Aliens Love Underpants' and doing lots of space activities linked to the book, including space music sessions led by the SAGE and a planetarium visit from Thomas Hepburn school.

Gibside goes Banana's !!
Go Bananas Week
The week of 23rd to 27th February centred around Fair-trade. Our theme was 'bananas'. The week included a banana treasure hunt, decorating a banana, a banana disco and a coffee morning serving fair-trade tea and coffee and selling lots of cakes made with bananas. The children chose to come into school in their pyjamas, fancy dress or something yellow.

This term class 5 have been going on a bear hunt. They have walked through water, squelched through mud and went to the forest to find the bear!

Gibside children meet Dame Kelly Holmes
Some of the children from Key Stage 2 attended an olympic event held at Whickham Comprehensive School on Tuesday. The children took part in various activities and Dame Kelly Holmes came to watch! We all had a lovely morning.
